OUTREACH AND CHURCH PLANTING

Sudan is home to literally hundreds of tribes, many of whom are considered to be unreached. In Southern Sudan, international known as "Christian", conservative estimates from Sudanese leaders in various churches are only 3-8% are actually reached or truly born again. A majority who call them selves "christian" in the south still primarily fall back on traditional witchcraft and animistic practices.

While there are pockets of genuine faith in Jesus, the majority of the church in Southern Sudan is based on form with little to no understanding of relationship or experience of Jesus Himself. There is a desperate need for the Presence of God, and people to be brought into a love relationship with Jesus, that will actually bring the healing and change our nation needs. And from the place of revival being released in the South, a movement of love that reaches ALL of Sudan and beyond.

Iris Ministries Sudan launched unprecendented outreaches into our local commuity that started with a Christmas meal for a 1000 on Dec 25, 2006.

In January 2007 we started regular outreaches into some of the hardest to reach areas of this nation. Exact locations and the nature of such outreaches cannot not be disclosed ahead of time for security reasons.

Everything from large open air healing meetings to sharing in the prisons to praying for the sick one by one in hospitals and clinics... From stopping for the one each day to feeding the masses, IMS is pioneering practical ways to share the love of Jesus that meets the felt needs of the communities we are serving in.

IMS now has two churches: one in Yei and one in Bor.
